Helping poor kids |
One pair of school shoes at a time
Our story
Kasi Angels Foundation is a peer support, mentorship, big brother and networking programme that aim`s to assist individuals, especially young women and men, boys and girls to cope with life adversities. Our aim is to inspire and aspire.
Each and every day we strive to provide world-class service to our communities. Together with corporates and individual donors, we have helped thousands of community members to make the changes they want to see in our country.
As a non-profit organization, we saw an opportunity not only to do our charity communal work but also to pitch ideas to corporates that require our tailor-made CSI projects that we can execute on their behalf within poor townships and rural areas.
Meaning of “Kasi”
“*Kasi” | is a township slang that comes from the word “Location”, “Lokasie” or “elokishini“ meaning township/s.“
Meaning of “Mzantsi Angels”
*Mzantsi” | is isiXhosa word for South. In this case it means “Mzantsi Angels” or “South African Angels”.
Mission:
To work with individuals who are impacted by life adversities, inspire them to become better people and integrate them back to society while preserving our environment.
We believe...
Youth are community assets and resources possessing unique perspectives, idealism, energy, creativity, and commitment.
The earlier our youth are asked to serve, the better prepared they are to embrace the virtue of lifelong service.
Youth-led service projects are most effective because decision-making gives young people ownership for the solutions.
Youth can be authentic leaders during childhood and adolescence.
The civic responsibilities of volunteering and the critical links between them must be taught to all children.
Young people have a right to participate in the formulation of public policy, particularly where it directly affects their lives and their future.
Public officials, NGO`s and the media play crucial roles in the campaign to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of youth service.
Meaningful youth service activities create strong, diverse communities of inspired, intelligent, civically-engaged young people.
Youth from all backgrounds must have the opportunity to serve and lead in their communities.
Quality service-learning practices should be widely adopted and implemented to advance youth and woman achievements and civic engagements.
Vision:
For individuals to heal from life adversities, achieve full potential, participate and contribute meaningfully to all aspects of life.
